What can you expect when you join our Race Club?

"Behind The Stable Door (Ltd) is a Social Farm, Behind The Stable Door Race Club was formed so the social inclusion we strive for on the farm could be widened to incorporate behind the scences access to our horses and days at the races.  With our Race Club anybody can get involved, if you have social anxieties (or want to get somebody involved who you know would benefit from more social inclusion)  we hope we can make you all feel equally welcome in our Race Club."

Throughout the year we lease out several racehorses to the club.  While fully cared for and professionally trained these horses are also used to help deliver “social farming” when they are at home. The horses provide valuable time out and offer learning opportunities to those who need extra support services and assistance in their day to day lives.

Whilst leased to the club the horses remain the property of the farm so no capital outlay is required for their purchase and as a result Race Club members do not own any equity of the horses.

For only £49 per annum you can join our Race Club and as well as gaining access to regular horse updates on our site you will also be allocated race day tickets and access to the races if you wish to have a day at the races when one of the clubs’ horses is racing (subject to booking your attendance in advance so we can have the tickets ready for you on race day).  We will post on the members area when one of our horses is entered in a race so you will have notice of dates and location in advance. We will also offer meet and greet opportunities on the farm throughout the year, as well as keeping you updated with behind the scenes news and progress of the horses that you can access once you are a member. As well as all the fun and informative facts that are posted in our members area! If you have special needs or require support or assistance please let us know so we can assist.

We plan to race in Ireland and the UK and maybe further afield if we have a horse suitable to take us places, below is an example video of a day at Dundalk!

We aim to try and keep at least two horses in the club at one time and these may be swapped around at any time, for example a horse may need a break from racing and we may temporarily take a horse out of the club so they can have their rest period. This will allow you several opportunities to go to the races throughout the year where you can enjoy the social element of owning a horse with none of the extra expense!

Please note due to the current covid-19 situation we are offering 6 months extra free which you will see at the checkout (18 months).  Racing is due to commence againg at the latest on 29th June.  In the meantime we will keep you updated and informed as well as entertained in the members area, Thank-you!  Or if you would like a personalised chat with the horses, request a live video chat using our contact us form below!

As the horses are leased to the club there is no equity outlay or expensive bills (i.e. vet bills) for the club members to worry about but this also means that any prize money that is won goes back into the cost of caring for the horses and assist with their running costs.

Meet Our Current Horses in Race Club:

Equulei

Equulei

Elzaam ex Racing Dream

STORY SO FAR
Equulei is two years old. We hope she will make up into a nice 2yo and could target some nice fillies races in 2020.  She is currently learning the ropes at home and is going nicely and is a very quiet and sweet temperment filly that learns very quickly.

FUTURE PLANS
Equulei is entered in the €200,000 Ballyhane 2yo race with an extra €50,000 if a horse sired by a Ballyhane sire wins.  Equulei is by Elzaam who is a Ballyhane sire so she would be eiligable for this bonus.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM JOINING RACE CLUB?
As well as Equulei there will be shares in at least one other horse (listed in this section). We aim to keep at least two horses in race club throughout the year to offer people something to look forward to all year round. Like our other clubs as a signed up member you receive Behind The Stable Door updates and access to the horses behind the scenes at home.  We are preparing our membership area with an audio section so that if you or anybody you want to include in Race Club can hear our news as well as access our videos. As our other animals don’t leave the farm, Race Club differs as you will also have further bonuses:

“Days to the races when one of the horses is running. Including photo opportunities and access to on course facilities reserved for owners of horses.”

We keep repeating this (because it is important!) Behind The Stable Door is a social farm Club and the profits of the Club go back into helping people with a social need (disability or illness) gain valuable access to everyday farm experience when other opportunities for them remain limited, we also have some of our farm participants join us at the races. This club is designed to be welcoming to everybody and if you have a social anxiety or have other difficulties or disabilities and want to join our race club and plan to go to races please get in touch beforehand and we will endeavor to help with any special needs or requirements. The same applies to our membership area.  If you are struggling to access it or navigate it and we can help or improve it in any way to make this easier for you, please get in touch with your suggestions!!

We really hope you will join us!

Anjika

Anjika

Anjaal ex Gabrellina Klon

ANJIKA TRAINING ON THE GALLOP

STORY SO FAR
Anjika is a three year old filly.  She had one quiet run in Newcastle, November 2019 and was pleasing.  We allowed Anjika to have the winter off in order to develop and strengthen.  We are hoping to have a lot of fun with her in 2020!

FUTURE PLANS
We need to get Anjika handicapped which means two more runs.  Then she is eligible to run in handicaps, some valuable fillies races will be open to her.  She would also be suitable for racing on the all weather as she has shown she handles the surface as well.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU JOIN RACE CLUB?
As well as Anjika there will be shares in at least one other horse. We aim to keep at least two horses in race club throughout the year to offer people something to look forward to all year round. About The Trainer

About The Trainer

My name is Clare Cannon. I am fortunate that even though I am a small enterprise I have managed to train multiple winners throughout Ireland.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you why I started Behind The Stable Door.

I have always believed that we are blessed to have a special relationship working with horses, a relationship we take for granted a lot of the time. Behind The Stable Door allows disadvantaged people or those with disabilities or learning difficulties to come to our farm once a week and work alongside us, just assisting us in doing what we do every day with the horses.

We feel it is important to say this again, as well as giving you a chance to be part of the excitement of racehorse ownership by joining Behind The Stable Door Racing Club your subscription will be helping us improve the lives of others by allowing them to spend days on our farm.

We have set up Behind The Stable Door as a limited not for profit company and we are fully registered with HMRC so that you have confidence that anything you sign up for the profits go back into helping people where needed on our farm.

If you think Behind The Stable Door Race Club may be something you would like to get involved with  then please sign up below or alternatively get in touch!
